The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 auction is scheduled to take place from August 29 to August 31. All the teams have the opportunity to retain their players from their previous squad before the PKL players auction. More than 500 players will feature in the event. All the players who are participating in the auction will be divided into four categories, and each category has a different price. More than 500 players are divided into 4 groups of A, B, C, and D, including raider, defender, and all-rounders.

One of India’s most popular sports leagues, the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), is all set to back with the eighth season after it was postponed last year. The auction for 2024 PKL will take place from August 29. The league is rumour to begin in October 2024.

Day 1: New Young players Draft at 6.30 PM
Day 2: Overseas players auction at 3 PM onwards
Day 3: Category B, C and D and unallocated players auction at 10.30 PM
Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Overview
PKL has so far conducted six seasons. In the sixth season, 12 teams participated, and Bengaluru Bulls emerged as winners after defeating Gujarat Fortune Giants in the final held here in January.
PKL 2024 Auction Format
Each franchise has the option of retaining a maximum of six players and three New Young Players (NYP) who have been selected through the Future Kabaddi Heroes Programme (FKHP). The list of the retained players will be announced in mid-March. The upcoming auction will focus on bringing in more young players into the fray as teams can bid for a maximum of six NYPs that come through FKHP 2019.

- Category A: 30 Lakhs
- Category B: 20 Lakhs
- Category C: 10 Lakhs
- Category D: 6 Lakhs
“As the numbers from season 6 (PKL) suggest, one-third of the NYP’s have played in nine matches or more. Since there are more young players involved in it, the number of points scored across the 138 matches has increased. So, we have decided to increase the number of young players for the teams,” Goswami said.
Jaipur Pink Panthers return to Jaipur in PKL 2024
Goswami also confirmed that Jaipur Pink Panthers would return to its home ground in Jaipur for PKL 2024. Jaipur played its home leg at Panchkula, Haryana, last season.
“Jaipur will be going (back) to Jaipur (to play their home matches,” he said. He added, “From the start, our ambition was to grow kabaddi as a sport and the league and we have done it.”
The PKL 2024 auction is set to be broadcasted on Star Sports and streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.
